What group of fittings should I use for AWS series window?

Decision about fittings type for the unit depends on burglary resistance class and water tightness class intended for the window. Both classes are defined by architect or client.

To set up this decision in Schucal, click window vent in the center:

On left window panel you will see following properties:

Fittings

Click Fittings type filed and choose between available fittings. Choose proper one:

Where:

  • AvanTec SimplySmart – Schuco’s basic system platform, concealed 180° fitting
  • AvanTec fitting – Predecessor of AvanTec SimplySmart
  • Surface-mounted fitting – Classic visible hinges

All of those fittings are available with two different types of burglary resistance classes, which are:

  • New RC (Resistance Classification), valid since 2011, consist of total of six classes:
    • RC1N to RC6 (more is better)
  • Older, pre-2011 six WK class (Widerstandklasse)
    • WK1 to WK6 (more is better)
  • No resistance:
    • BASIC – no resistance, default for most of constructions.
      • It is not possible to choose custom number of hinges.
  • Water tightness:
  • In accordance with DIN EN 12208: There are three classes available for method A, which takes account of the fact that the window is in an unprotected position in the building. The following classes are available (lower classifications are included):
    • 4A (test pressure 150 Pa)
    • 7A (test pressure 300 Pa)
    • 9A (test pressure 600 Pa)

Fittings options:

The fittings options available to you for the opening type and the fittings type are displayed in this dialog box.

The option with the Automatic add-on is the option that is automatically generated by default. If you keep this option, the fittings option is automatically adapted accordingly to vent weight.

If you select another option, it is retained, even if it becomes invalid due to a change to the opening.

There are several types that represents additional locking points in for the vent.

Type 1No additional locking points
Type 2Three additional locking points

 

(two at the hinges side and one at the handle side of the vent)

Type 3Three additional locking points

 

(two at the bottom and one on the top of the vent)

Type 4Six additional locking points, both Type 2 + Type 3
